This piece was built hollow with coils and slabs. The boy is a blend of older family photos, current pictures of nephews, cousins, and other familiar faces. He embodies the shared experience of becoming conscious of the fact that your family traditions are a bit different from most others around you. Realizing this while witnessing your family’s structure, you become enamored by this new discovery and grab anything that reminds you of it to hold near. This piece is approximately 40” tall, 18” wide, and 14” deep. It is made 100% of ceramic, finished with underglazes and chalk pastels.
